Paula, originally from Harare, but recently returned from the UK, has spent the majority of her career in corporate global Human Resources. Her love of travel, people and cooking has inspired her to take a career change and sit on the other side of the hospitality fence! Having spent many a night in hotels all over the world, Paula has tried to capture the best of her experiences for both the business travellers’ needs and those who are travelling for pleasure. When she isn’t cooking, reading or spending time with friends, she likes to dabble in a little flower arranging, horse-riding and spending time with little Mac – the Westie!!

Gary, born in Romford, Essex fell in love with Zimbabwe on a recent visit and was persuaded by Paula to enter into this new venture. Gary, a mechanical engineer, has spent a significant amount of time in corporate life. However, within the last few years, his experience has included owning and running a corporate cleaning company, business coaching and sports massage. More recently he has switched from corporate life to teaching and teaches Physics to secondary school students.

In his spare time, Gary loves cycling and swimming and has completed numerous marathons over the years with his last accolade being his success at the 2008 Iron Man in Germany! His three daughters also keep him on his toes!

Bruce, who is the face of Kutandara, is Zimbabwean but spent many years in London returning to Harare in 1997. Bruce’s background is in the pub, restaurant and hospitality industries with his ‘piece de resistance’ was his very successful cafe and wine bar in Clapham called “Buddy’s”!

He has a love of cooking and when he is not in the kitchen you can find him on the tennis court fine-tuning his serve and backhanders! Eat your heart out Federer!

Kutandara could not run without our special little team made up of Ruth, Hazel, Lovemore and Peter. Ruth, our supervisor, has been with Kutandara since it’s opening and is a gem. You will often be greeted by Ruth’s smiling face and awesome sense of humour at reception or in the dining room! Hazel ensures our rooms are always fresh and sparkling and ready for the next guest.

Peter and Lovemore have been with us for about 3 years and they not only ensure our guest’s security but spend a significant amount of time tending to the beautiful gardens. Oh, and they are always ready and willing to help with your luggage!
